Единственное, что вы можете проверить, это посмотреть, загрузился ли файл .htaccess, и совпадает ли его содержимое с оригинальным: http://s2cms.ru/trac/browser/trunk/.htaccess
Попробуйте вообще удалить .htaccess. Без него движок заработает, но не будут работать красивые URL. Их можно будет настроить позднее.

Я бы рекомендовал с этой ошибкой обращаться именно к техподдержке.

Не правильно. Константа S2_COMPRESS соответствует флажку в админке:

ob_start();
if (S2_COMPRESS)
    ob_start('ob_gzhandler');

echo $template;

if (S2_COMPRESS)
    ob_end_flush();

Нужно убрать весь код, который с ней связан.

index.php  : было      201.ob_start('ob_gzhandler');            стало     201. ob_start($ob_gzhandler);

site_ajax.php  : было 38.    ob_start('ob_gzhandler');           стало  38.        //ob_start("ob_gzhandler");

ошибка пропала не знаю правильно ли сделал ?
